Bounce This Along

All this time you've just been putting Bounce in your clothes dryer! Here are some uses that some have found to be beneficial....

1. Mail carriers have found that to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets, helps to keep yellow-jackets
away. It really works. The bees just veer around but keep their distance.
2. Bounce will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice. Spread sheets around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it such pests from entering your vehicle.
3. Slip a sheet into books and albums that don't get opened too often to prevent a musty odor.
4. It can also repel mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce around a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season. Use them when playing sports like baseball, golf, and soccer or working in the garden or yard.

~Our Chapter Directors Message~
Do not have a lot to say this news letter.
Just want to remind every body that the sept. meeting will be at m.c.l. at about a mile
north of southern plazz.
Region D,s rally will be at the lebadon fair grounds over labor day week end.
If any of you are going up and stay all night I would recomend you be getting your motel
reservations early as they are starting to fill up.
Remember to always check your events line to keep up with the latest goings on.

~Assistant Chapter Directors Message~
Can you believe that it is already August?  Next week the kids go back to school and it won’t be any
time then until we start getting into fall weather.  Sharon and I have been so busy this summer with all
of the things we wanted to get done.  I think we have accomplished nearly everything we wanted to do.
I still haven’t had the sailboat out on Brookville Lake, but I am hoping to get that done in the next few
days.  I have been hoping it would cool down a little so it would be more enjoyable.

The Chapter still has a long list of activities and rides to enjoy before the snow begins to fly.  Sharon
and I are looking forward to leading the ride on Saturday Aug. 12th to Ainsley’s Café on Brookville
Lake.  We are going to leave Kroger at 9:00.  It is a really nice place to eat.  They have an outdoor
deck that overlooks the marina with all of the really nice boats.  After we finish eating, we plan on
some riding through the Franklin and Fayette county countryside.  This would be a great opportunity
to invite some of our friends who have fallen away from the chapter, to come and enjoy a fun filled day.

Another big activity for the Chapter on August 26th is the Chapter Picnic.  This year it is going to be
held at Russ and Judy’s home and we are looking forward to a big turnout for the picnic.

I would encourage everyone to keep checking the events line and the web site for a list of all of the
activities we have planned for the near future.  The only way for our chapter to flourish is for each of us
to participate in the planned events.

~Rider Educators Message~
Recent motorcycle accidents with cars & vans have made it even more important that we make
ourselves as visible as possible.
The accident the other day, where a motorcycle escort vehicle was hit by a van on 465 is very
indicative of this fact.
A majority of vehicle (non-motorcyclists) do not look out for the motorcycles.
We must be careful we place ourselves on the road.
I have seen to many people, following to close, riding in the vehicles blind spot
(This is very dangerous if it is a semi-tractor), & staying in the same groove to long,
If you stay in one position to long, it is easy for motorists, to become fixated, & not see us.
Wear bright visible colors, break up the same color patterns, is hard for some motorists
to judge distances, especially when stopping.
Entirely too many motorcyclists, especially pulling trailers, are rear ended at stops, when they
have on color coordinated clothes, cycles, & trailers. Car drivers will tend to see the
motorcycle, but miss the trailer in back of the bike, & run into the rear of the trailer when
coming to a stop.
Bright contrasting colors tend to disrupt the pattern, & make us more visible.

5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television
screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.
6. Collect cat/dog hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.
7. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.
8. To freshen the air in your home - Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.
9. Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner to freshen rooms. To freshen the air in your car - Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.
10. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.
11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.
12. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.
13. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent
apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.
14. Dissolves soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.
15. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.
16. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.
17. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.
18. Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh.
